Joan Parker

I have been involved in drawing and painting since my school days of Ivanhoe Girl’s Grammar School.

I joined the Heidelberg Artists Society approximately 10 Years ago and since this time, have exhibited regularly with them, at various locations throughout Melbourne’s northeast.

I have had several teachers throughout my painting history including Judy Henshaw, Carol Milton and Lorraine Wigraft. I have also completed workshops with John Bredl, Greg Smith and Fiona Bilbrough as part of my professional development.

In 2O01, I won in my category of the ‘Ern Salter’ Award from the Heidelberg Artists Society, which was an ‘honour to receive’

My time is spent living between Melbourne ,as well as our home in Blairgowrie. I love to paint the Mornington Peninsula in particular, and spend hours taking photos that provide me with the inspiration to paint.

I have recently returned from an extensive tour of Europe and have painted continually since being home. Venice, in particular is a favourite and I have sold many of my paintings that capture this magical city since my return. Although I intend to travel and paint more beautiful destinations around the world, I never tire of painting the beauty and lights of our magnificent coastline, which is also a beautiful part of the world.
