John Everard

John Everard has been drawing and painting from an early age, although he trained for, and was employed in the manufacturing industry. John was inspired by his father, also a hobby artist, who painted scenes from the rolling hills and the meandering rivers and creeks of north east Victoria where he grew up.

Now that John is retired he has found more time to pursue and develop his artistic skills, and sought the encouragement and training available within the Heidelberg Artists Society. He is a past President of this Society. Exhibiting in various shows over the years has brought enough sales and interest to maintain his momentum for painting, although his motivation to paint is usually not about sales. He paints with oil and acrylic colour, but has been trained with watercolour and enjoys the challenges this medium brings. He has won several awards in the Annual Awards Day for the Heidelberg Society, and has had a successful Exhibition at the Warracknabeal Easter Show. He has had several commissions.

Favourite artwork is to tell a story or invoke an interest or feeling for the subject.
